The New York State Senate Summer Reading Program (Summer Reading Program) website adheres to the NYSenate.gov Privacy Policy with some additional provisions.
The site uses some of the information shared by participants to generate useful statistics and reports that are accessible to the general public, but information that could be used to identify a participant (names, addresses, etc.) will not be accessible to the general public.
Information collected from parents about their children will not be retained beyond the life of the Summer Reading Program; it is used exclusively for generating certificates that children receive in the mail upon successful completion of the Summer Reading Program and for generating personalized emails of encouragement from the Senator. The name, mailing address, and email address of any parent participating in the program will be retained by the Senate beyond the life of the Summer Reading Program only in the event that the parent explicitly ‘opts-in’ to receive future updates from their Senator.
